Going Green: Royal Irish Tours & Cathy’s Travel at the Niagara Irish Festival

RIT’s Jonathan Sargent, Cathy MacKinnon of Cathy’s Travel and Patrick Treacy, Niagara Irish Festival organizer.

When you’re an Irish travel specialist, you fish where the fish are, and that’s why Royal Irish Tours and TTAND member Cathy MacKinnon of Cathy’s Travel spent last weekend at the third-annual Niagara Irish Festival.

Good craic at the Niagara Irish Festival.

The two-day event attracts about 5,000 people with either cultural roots in the Emerald Isle or a keen interest in Irish music, food and culture.

It also attracted MacKinnon and Jonathan Sargent, Director of Sales for Royal Irish Tours, who spent the weekend speaking to potential travellers whose appetite for Ireland was whetted by the performances and products of local Irish artists, vendors, musicians and dancers.

Royal Irish Tours, Cathy’s Travel and Are Lingus gave away a trip to Ireland.

On Saturday evening the crowd rocked to U2 performance band Desire, and Cathy’s Travel, Royal Irish Tours and Aer Lingus gave away a 7-day tour with flights, car rental and B&B accommodation.

“It was our third time participating and it’s an ideal way to source potential clients with a love for Ireland,” said MacKinnon. “Royal Irish is a great partner to work with as they have product catering to a wide range of budgets and interests.”
