Intrepid Foundation Issues Emergency Appeal for Colombian Earthquake Support

On Monday, a 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia. At least 250 people have been killed and hundreds more injured, and rescue efforts continue to work to free those who have been trapped beneath rubble.

The Intrepid Foundation, tour operator Intrepid Travels’ non-profit organization, has issued an emergency appeal for funds to support earthquake relief efforts in Colombia, a highly popular tourist destination. The Intrepid Foundation will match donations up to AUD $30,000, ($29,500CAD) meaning contributions can go twice as far.

At this writing, more than $22,000 has already been raised.

Donations will go towards Intrepid’s local partner Patrulla Aérea Civil Colombiana’s emergency relief efforts. Planes carrying medical professionals are already making their way into the affected region.
