John Hall’s Alaska has unveiled four small-group, all-inclusive packaged tours. Tours range from 10 to 14 days and are perfect for pairing with an Alaska cruise.
With the anticipated full reopening of the 92-mile Denali Park Road in 2027, the company will reintroduce backcountry access to Kantishna in the heart of Denali National Park on all of its Alaska solstice itineraries.
“Returning to Kantishna is incredibly meaningful for us,” said Elizabeth Hall, president and CEO of John Hall’s Alaska. “As a family-owned company, we’ve always believed the most meaningful travel experiences happen away from the familiar and into to the remarkable, hard to reach areas of the state. Being able to take our guests once again beyond where most visitors go restores a truly special experience that is central to our company’s foundation and truly defines who we are. John Hall Sr. shaped this company around a founding principle: do one thing and do it better than anyone else. For us, that means showcasing the authentic Alaska, traveling to the places that stay with you long after you’ve come home.”
For travelers who still associate motorcoach travel with crowded buses and passive sightseeing, John Hall’s Alaska’s offers a distinctly different standard. It’s custom fleet of MCI motorcoaches seat just 48 passengers, with each seat featuring extended legroom, reclining seats, flatscreen TVs, and oversized panoramic windows.
Just as important, each journey is led by Alaska professionals who do more than drive – they guide, entertain, interpret the landscape, and share real-time local insight that turns time on the road into one of the most meaningful parts of the itinerary.
“We know some travelers have an outdated idea of what motorcoach travel means,” Hall said. “For John Hall’s Alaska, it means something entirely different. It means comfort, access, expert storytelling and the ability to experience Alaska’s landscapes as they unfold, unique to small group travel with John Hall’s Alaska. Our motorcoaches are not just a way to get from one place to the next. They are part of how our guests understand the scale, beauty and character of Alaska.”
John Hall’s Alaksa 2027 tours include:
Aurora Season (February to March)
The 11-day “Iditarod & Aurora Adventure” is an all-inclusive journey that provides exclusive access to Iditarod events, as well as a flight to a remote active checkpoint along the trail to Nome. Guests learn about the sport’s cultural significance and experience dog sledding, while evenings are spent beneath the northern lights in unique accommodations designed for optimal aurora viewing. Additional opportunities to personalize the journey are available through “Pick Your Adventure” options.
Solstice Season (June to September)
The 10-day “Grand Slam Alaska” delivers one of the most inclusive tour experiences offered in the state, highlighted by two evenings spent 92 miles deep in the heart of Denali National Park in Kantishna at a remote backcountry lodge. From visiting Denali and Wrangell-St. Elias national parks to learning about Alaska Native heritage and cruising through the pristine waters of Prince William Sound, this itinerary includes glacier and wildlife viewing, dog mushing, and immersive stops throughout the state.
The 11-day “Untamed Alaska” is a Black Label Experience (smaller groups, no more than 28 guests) that journeys across Alaska by plane, dayboat, and motorcoach. Guests spend two evenings in the heart of Denali in Kantishna, with three full days around Mount Denali, as well as two days exploring Prince William Sound, including the remote and breathtaking port communities of Cordova and Valdez. Other highlights include scenic travel along the 138-mile Denali Highway, visits to Talkeetna and Anchorage, and two “Pick Your Adventure” days.
The 14-day “National Parks of Alaska” is John Hall’s Alaska’s most complete option, offering travelers access to six of the state’s eight national parks. The Black Label Experience combines travel by rail, boat, flightseeing, and motorcoach and features brown bears sightseeing at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park, scenic flights over the Brooks Range, cultural visits in Gates of the Arctic, and immersive experiences in Lake Clark and Kenai Fjords national parks. Guests also spend two nights each deep within both Wrangell-St. Elias and Denali National Parks, including a stay 92 miles into Denali’s backcountry.
