The Travel Institute (TTI) just launched its redesigned Alaska Destination Specialist Course in collaboration with Princess Cruises. The updated course includes information about supplementing cruise bookings with inland experiences.
“Alaska is a multi-layered destination that requires a more thoughtful approach to truly engage and excite clients,” said Guida Botelho, vice president of TTI. “By understanding how Alaska’s coast and interior connect, advisors will transform a standard vacation into a seamless, breathtaking adventure.”
Alaska has been surging in popularity, hitting a new all-time visitor record from May 2024 to April 2025 of 3.08 million visitors, 90% from the U.S. TTI’s new Alaska course provides imagery, video, and Advisor Pro Tips about how to blend cruise, land-only, and cruise-tour options with rail journeys and other inland destinations.
Travel advisors can expect education in each Alaskan region, logistics, and selling strategies. They will receive the professional credential of Certified Alaska Travel Specialist upon completing the course.
“As a destination leader in Alaska, we believe education is essential to helping advisors truly bring this incredible region to life for their clients,” said Carmen Roig, senior vice president of sales and trade marketing for Princess Cruises. “Alaska isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience, and informed guidance makes all the difference.”
Travel advisors interested in the course can attend a complimentary webinar, Alaska Made Simple: From Cruise to Complete Itineraries, on May 27 at 1 p.m. EST. Hosted by Stacey Cabell, CTIE, it will preview the course and give advisors a glimpse of what they’ll learn.
