Ultra-low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines is adding a new city to its route map.

Starting in April 2023, Spirit will to and from Charleston, South Carolina to three different cities—Ft. Lauderdale, Newark, and Philadelphia. Spirit will fly all those routes daily starting on April 5.

“We’re excited to connect the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina, with three of the biggest metro areas on the East Coast,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines. “Spirit’s affordable fares and convenient, nonstop flights allow Guests to travel more often to visit friends and loved ones, and explore Charleston’s attractions, coastline, and world-class restaurants.”

To celebrate, Spirit is offering $39 one-way fares to Philadelphia and $49 to Newark and Ft. Lauderdale.

Spirit is currently in the midst of being acquired by JetBlue, a deal that came after prolonged negotiations and a bidding war with Frontier. JetBlue will acquire Spirit for $33.50 per share in cash, including a prepayment of $2.50 per share in cash payable upon Spirit shareholders’ approval of the deal. When the deal is finalized, the combined carrier will be the fifth-largest airline in the U.S.

However, there are still some regulatory approval procedures needed to be completed. In the meantime, Spirit has continued to grow its route network including recently adding new daily service from Boise Airport to Las Vegas, the airline’s first service in or out of Idaho.
