According to a recent study of social media data, Paris is the most popular city in the world to pop the big question. Research conducted by Glamira.com, a custom jewelry seller, found that #ParisProposal was used 23,335 times across Instagram and TikTok. 

Bali ranked second with 8,317 posts on social media, followed by Sydney, Santorini, and Maui. Here is the full list of the top 15 destinations for marriage proposals.

Researchers gathered the data by searching “area+proposal” hashtags on Instagram and TikTok from 134 common proposal destinations and calculating which spots had the most proposal posts.  

“An engagement is a big, special, and unforgettable moment in life, and lots of people combine traveling with engagement plans to create a vacation of a lifetime,” a Glamira spokesperson said. “It’s fascinating to see the most romantic places in the world to propose ranked as they all offer different aspects from breathtaking natural environments to iconic architectural landmarks.”      

Engagement posts on social media get millions of views – for example, posts tagged #parisproposal attracted 72.9 million views on TikTok alone, so keep these destinations in mind for clients who are planning to propose.
