Fairmont Tazi Palace Set to Open in Tangier

Fairmont Tazi Palace Set to Open in Tangier

Fairmont’s refurbishment and redesign of the Tazi Palace opens to the public this November. Originally built in the 1920s as a residence for the king’s advisor, the oversized boutique hotel offers 133 rooms, suites and penthouses.

“Tangier is a vibrant and multicultural city infused with Mediterranean spirit, and we’re thrilled to give the opportunity for guests to experience Fairmont’s pioneering approach to unique hospitality while exploring the many cultures and civilizations that have shaped the city’s rich history,” said Fabien Gastinel, general manager of the Fairmont Fazi Palace.

Accommodations & Decor
Guests at the Fairmont Tazi Palace, which is set on 8.9 acres of property that overlooks the city, will have a choice of 133 rooms, suites and penthouses including one Signature Suite, two Penthouses, and one Katara Suite. Select rooms overlook the forested hillside, while select others provide unobstructed views of the Old City.

Each guestroom embodies elements of traditional Moroccan décor and finely crafted textiles. Additionally, guests will find artwork by artisans from the local Moroccan community throughout the reimagined interior of the property.

Across the property’s expansive grounds, landscaping reflect a blend of Arab and Andalusian cultures, with native, centenary eucalyptus trees mixed with palm, olive, citrus and pomegranate groves.

Dining & Drinking
Fairmont Tazi Palace will also be home to seven dining venues, led by Head Chef Christopher Blake. Options will include Crudo, a Northern Mediterranean venue open from breakfast to dinner and Parisa, with its interpretation of Persian hospitality and cuisine, among others.

There will also be a “hidden” speakeasy-style bar, Innocents, along with the poolside Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar and a mixology-specialty bar.

The Fairmont Spa will offer 26,000-square-feet of space dedicated to well-being, with 10 treatment rooms and outdoor spaces that lead to a vitality pool, private spa, solarium and hammam.
