Hotel Riu Palace Aruba Reopens After Comprehensive Renovation
by Bruce Parkinson
RIU Hotels & Resorts has reopened the doors of the iconic Hotel Riu Palace Aruba following a comprehensive renovation. The Spanish hotelier has been on the island since 2007, and says the refurbishment reinforces its commitment to the destination.
RIU calls the Hotel Riu Palace Aruba one of the most elegant properties within its Caribbean portfolio, and says the renovation further elevates its design and sophistication.
The lobby preserves the classic elegance synonymous with the Riu Palace line, while embracing natural light and incorporating trendy materials and elements that welcome guests into a modern, contemporary setting.
Every guest room has been completely refurbished, featuring a refined palette of light tones complemented by natural colours and materials. The rooms boasting the most spectacular views have been designated for the Elite Club, the premium service offered by the chain at its adults-only Riu Palace properties.

Thirty-one of these rooms feature a private pool. Elite guests also enjoy access to an exclusive restaurant and a dedicated sun lounger area, complete with beachside bar service.
Cuisine is key to the RIU offering, and the company says menus, ingredients, and preparation techniques have been meticulously refined and elevated. Furthermore, RIU says the interior design, the welcoming atmosphere, and the service flow now provide a completely new and distinctive experience across each of our themed restaurants.

The reimagined Hotel Riu Palace Aruba now features: the Steakhouse; the main restaurant, Don Nicolás, offering an international buffet; the fusion-inspired Krystal restaurant; the Asian-themed Sayuri; the Italian establishment Milano; and two casual dining options, Pepe’s Food and Tiki Taco.
The hotel boasts an extensive selection of bars, including the lobby bar, Daiquiri; the renovated café, Cappuchino, now boasting an ice cream parlour; the plaza bar, Barry’s; the poolside bar, Palm Beach; and the climate-controlled sports bar, American Country.

Another significant highlight for adult guests is the access to the Riu Party, held every Friday at the neighbouring Hotel Riu Palace Antillas. However, the Hotel Riu Palace Aruba is perfectly suited for the entire family, offering an extensive entertainment program with activities for all ages, including the standout kids’ club RIU Land. The oceanfront garden and pool areas have also been completely transformed.
With this reopening, RIU Hotels & Resorts says it is solidifying its value proposition within the high-end Caribbean vacation segment. The comprehensive renovation of the Hotel Riu Palace Aruba allows the company to modernize the guest experience at this iconic resort, reaffirming its commitment to the highest standards of service in one of the region’s most coveted destinations.
