New Hotels and Major Renovations Planned for Iberostar in 2026

Iberostar Montenegro

Iberostar has announced a €1 billion investment plan through 2028 to drive new developments and upgrade existing properties, including JOIA Rose Hall, while reporting 2025 revenues of €5.1 billion, marking a 14% year-over-year increase.

Luxury property JOIA Aruba by Iberostar successfully completed its first year of operation, while recently renovated properties Iberostar Selection Es Trenc and Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace were also well received. In the Americas, Iberostar expanded its footprint in Mexico with the opening of Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun—its 12th hotel in the country.

Looking ahead to 2026, Iberostar will open two new five-star hotels in strategic destinations:

  • Iberostar Selection Montenegro, a 290-suite and villa resort on Montenegro’s southern coast
  • Iberostar Selection Zanzibar (Tanzania), the company’s first property in East Africa, located on Muyuni Beach

Major renovations are also underway, including Iberostar Waves Tucán and Iberostar Waves Quetzal in Mexico, which will become flagship properties for the Waves brand in the Americas. In Jamaica, JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar will undergo a full renovation from June to November 2026, further elevating its luxury offering.

“The 2025 results confirm the strength of a model geared towards profitable growth and a long-term vision,” said Sabina Fluxá, Vice-Chairman and CEO of Iberostar Group. ” We approach 2026 with a firm commitment to investing, convinced that talent development is essential to creating sustainable value in the destinations where we operate.”

Iberostar also reports a continued commitment to sustainability; by the end of 2025, Iberostar had reduced waste sent to landfill by more than 80% compared to 2021. 93% of fish and seafood served across hotels coming from responsible sources with markets such as Spain, Mexico, and Portugal already reaching 100% responsible sourcing.

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts ended the year with a portfolio of 100 hotels and more than 33,500 rooms across 14 countries. The U.S. and Canada remain leading source markets, with Argentina emerging as a fast-growing contributor (+34% in 2025).

“The results achieved are the outcome of our expertise in the vacation segment and the commitment of a professional and highly motivated team,” said Phil Mc Aveety, CEO of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts. “We remain committed to excellence, the continuous transformation of our portfolio in prime beachfront locations, and the creation of experiences that generate lasting value for customers, employees, and communities.”

In 2026, Iberostar Group will celebrate 70 years in tourism, supported by a global team of 40,000 employees from 95 nationalities.
