New Smartpoint Version Adds Hotel Shopping Tools

by Michele McDonald  December 21, 2015

Travelport released a new version of its Smartpoint travel agency desktop with additional hotel shopping functionality and improved performance.

Hotel search has been enhanced, enabling agents to search by vicinity using a full or partial address. In addition, agents can see images, comparisons, maps and reviews of hotel properties, as well as specific offers based on a traveler’s loyalty memberships.

An integrated hotel billback solution allows business travelers’ stays to be billed to their travel management companies, which then invoice the travelers’ companies.

The solution automates the manual reconciliation process using eNett International Virtual Account Numbers, increasing the security of the transaction.

Smartpoint also has integrated SeatGuru, the website application that helps travelers select the best seat on a specific flight. The integration enables agents to access seat reviews without leaving the booking path.

Travelport Smartpoint combines the ability to use cryptic commands when desired with the interactive, graphical content of a modern user interface.

It incorporates all of Travelport’s merchandising capabilities and content, including Rich Content & Branding.
