Transat Vice President Denise Heffron Announces Retirement

Transat Vice President Denise Heffron Announces Retirement

Transat is cancelling flights after receiving a strike notification from its pilots.

Denise Heffron, the longtime vice president of national sales and commercial at Transat Holidays, will retire from the company, Transat announced on Wednesday.

Heffron, who joined the Transat team in 1993, is retiring after almost 25 years of work with the company.

“When reflecting on my career at Transat, my time has been wonderful and I forever be grateful for the incredible opportunities and adventures,” Heffron said in a statement announcing the news. “I feel truly privileged to have worked for, and with, the best in the business.”

Heffron was hired shortly after Transat started targeting the English-Canadian market. She became the general manager of Ontario and national director of sales in 2001 and then in 2004 she became the vice president of national sales and commercial.

For the past decade, Heffron has been working as the vice president of sales and commercial for Transat Holidays and Nolitours, reporting directly to Transat’s president.

“On behalf of the entire Transat organization, I extend to Denise our heartfelt gratitude and admiration for her significant contributions in establishing the company on a national level,” chief distribution officer Joseph Adamo said in a statement. “Her dedication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit will be sorely missed.”

After her retirement, Heffron’s duties will be covered by Transat’s direct of national accounts Robert Reed, national director of groups Pat Brady, and commercial directors Nicole Bursey and Louise Fecteau.
