Choice Hotels Enters Middle East Market
by Jessica MontevagoChoice Hotels International inked a deal with Equinox Ventures Ltd. to bring its Clarion, Comfort, and Quality brands to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
The deal is expected to bring 25 hotels to the region by 2021.
The announcement marks Choice Hotels’ overall push to expand its footprint in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), having announced five development agreements in the past six months. It will open properties in Germany, Austria, and Hungary under the Comfort and Quality brands, as well as several hotels in Belgium. The company also launched its upscale brand Ascend Hotel Collection in the United Kingdom and France.
