Sanctuary Cap Cana Reopens Following $35 Million Makeover

by Jessica Montevago  September 05, 2018

After undergoing a $35 million makeover, the adults-only Sanctuary Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic officially reopened over the weekend.

Located on a half-mile of beachfront within the Cap Cana gated community, the resort had closed its doors on May 1 to expand and renovate.

The transformation included reimagined guest rooms and enhanced public spaces, including the lobby, dining outlets and spa; as well as a restoration of the building’s Spanish Colonial architectural features.

Additionally, two new towers housing 140 suites will join the resort’s existing 184 guestrooms. The new Luxury Junior Suites include 1 king bed or 2 queen beds, a full bathroom with a rain shower, living area, and a private balcony with garden views. There is also the new Premium Junior Suite with an ocean view.

The property, under the Playa Hotels & Resorts umbrella, is spread out across 21 acres, offering five a´ la carte and buffet restaurants, a 20,000-square-foot spa, and a castle complete with a rooftop pool.
