Happy 70th birthday, James Bond! Yep, it’s been 70 years since Ian Fleming wrote Casino Royale and introduced us to the coolest spy ever, with his “shaken not stirred” martinis and awesome gadgets!

To celebrate, the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica – where Fleming penned all 14 James Bond novels! – is giving Bond lovers the chance to trace Fleming’s footsteps from snorkeling the same reefs he did to touring the villa where he wrote every word of the James Bond stories.

The package includes accommodations in a one-bedroom Lagoon Cottage, guided snorkeling excursion, tour of the Fleming Villa (pending availability), bottle of Bollinger Champagne, and a 007 Collector’s Edition of Blackwell Rum.

Want to know more about the package? Hit me up for more info.

What You Need to Know
The GoldenEye in Jamaica is a collection of private villas, cottages, and beach huts that was originally built by Ian Fleming. Package rates start at $3,700 for four nights and stays are available through October 31, 2023. Travel advisors can find out more information about the property at www.goldeneye.com/for-travel-professionals or sign up to receive information about promotions and more at www.islandoutpost.com/travel-professionals.

OMG, I might need to plan a Hawaii trip for myself just to check out the new Wildlife University workshops at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. The resort has more than 50 species of birds living on their property and now guests can learn all about them, from their training to their enrichment to how to keep them healthy.

For instance, one of the workshops is all about enrichment and learning about how toys can mimic objects in the wild. Guests get to make their own parrot toys and experience playtime with penguins, and even a bird dance party.

Oh, and speaking of penguins! The resort offers a Penguin Painting experience where guests can participate in an art session with one of the resident African penguins. At the end, you get to take home a one-of-a-kind watercolor painted for you by the penguin!

How cool is that?

What You Need to Know
The Wildlife University is offered every Sunday from 10am to 11:30am. Guests must be eight years or older to participate and adults are welcome. The activity starts at $100 per person and you’ll need to reserve your clients’ spot(s) ahead of time. The Penguin Painting experience is also by reservation only and costs $650 for up to 20 people.

It’s no fun when an airline loses your luggage. And I feel for anyone who’s been through it. But I can’t help but get a chuckle out of the new Unclaimed Baggage Museum.

Located in Scottsboro, Alabama, this museum features 70 of the most curious and unusual items discovered in lost bags over 50 years.

Things like a jumbo set of Barbie & Ken trading cards, a basketball signed by Michael Jordon, a 1980s Hermes necklace, and even Hoggle, the actual Jim Henson dwarf puppet and a key character in David Bowie’s cult fantasy film “Labyrinth.”

If you ever find yourself in Scottsboro, check it out and let me know what it was like!

What You Need to Know
There’s not much you need to know. This is simply a fun, travel-themed post to share.
