Social Media Posts You Can Use Right Now

by Dori Saltzman  April 27, 2023
Social Media Posts You Can Use Right Now

Staying consistent on social media can be exhausting, but consistency is key to success. But with so many clients coming out of the woodwork to boo, who has time for regular social media content creation?

Travel Market Report wants to help. We’ve put together five social media posts you can use right now, today (or tomorrow or the next day) on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn or whatever social platform you use. Each post (except the last) is accompanied by a picture that is free for you to use, along with a call to action and any information you need to know to respond to inquiries.

(Feel free to tweak these posts in any way that works for you!)

The Post
“Your face is my heart Sassenach, and the love of you is my soul.”

Swooning yet?

If you’re a fan out Outlander, I’ve got some great news for you! While I can’t give you Jamie Fraser, for one sailing only next year, you can cruise with Outlander’s own Dougal MacKenzie. Actor Graham McTavish will be joining the October 2024 8-day Kiltn’ It: Facts, Fiction & Fairytale Settings on the Rhine sailing and you can join too. During the stay you can explore fairytale settings in Switzerland, France, Germany and Holland, while at night you can listen to McTavish tell his own tales.

You can bet this sailing is going to fill up fast, so call me now if you want the chance to sail with Dougal!

What You Need to Know
You’ll find everything you need to know about this sailing on the Avalon Waterways website.

Keep your cell phone safe when traveling! There’s a lot we have to worry about when traveling and now the FCC and FBI are warning us of one more: juice jacking.

Juice jacking is when “bad actors” are able to load malware onto public USB charging stations – like in the airport! – that then gets automatically downloaded onto your phone when you plug in via a USB cable to charge.  This malware can lock your device or export personal data and passwords, leaving  you totally compromised.

Here are some tips to help you avoid becoming a juice jacking victim:

  • Avoid using a public USB charging station. Use an AC power outlet instead.
  • Bring AC, car chargers, and your own USB cables with you when traveling.
  • Carry a portable charger or external battery.
  • Consider carrying a charging-only cable, which prevents data from sending or receiving while charging, from a trusted supplier.
  • If you plug your device into a USB port and a prompt appears asking you to select “share data” or “charge only,” always select “charge only.”

What You Need to Know
This one is pretty self-explanatory and designed to reinforce that you care about your clients’ safety when traveling.

Need a kids-free break before the kids are home for the summer? If yes, you’re not alone. Sandals Resorts found that while many families are looking forward to spending time together this summer, nearly 60% said they experience stress ahead of the busy summer season. Having to balance work and having the kids at home, keep the kids busy and engaged, and the cost of activities like camp, all add to that stress. For a last-minute getaway to get away from the stress of it all, Sandals is offering a fourth night free for couples that book now through May 31 (for travel between May 1 and June 15) at participating properties.

Call it a summer pre-game, self-care, or just a final chance at one-on-one time before the kids are home all the time, but don’t wait to book your four-day stay! Reach out to me today for all the details.

Travel can be as much about the stories we get to tell as it is the experiences we have. Like the time I…  [tell a story here, preferably funny, inspirational or even embarrassing]

What’s a travel story you love to tell?

What You Need to Know
Social media isn’t only about selling. It’s a way to get to know your clients and let them get to know you. Use this post and others like it to get conversations going and reinforce your relationship with your clients.

Ever wonder if anyone famous was on the voyage when your ancestors came to America from Europe? If they came via Rotterdam in the Netherlands, there’s an easy way to find out! Holland America Line, the CBG | Center for Family History, and the Rotterdam City Archives teamed up to spend three years digitizing Holland America Line’s passenger logs from 1900 to 1969. There are a few famous names scattered throughout the logs – Albert Einstein and Eddie Van Halen to name a few.

See if your ancestors are in the logs at https://stadsarchief.rotterdam.nl/english/.

What You Need to Know
Another post that’s less about selling and more about showing you’re the travel expert and know what the cruise lines you’re selling are up to. It’s also a fun distraction for any clients into genealogy.
