Avoya Promotes Mickey McBride to Vice President of Sales

Avoya Travel Network has named Mickey McBride, a decade-plus veteran of the company, as its new vice president of sales.

McBride joins an executive team led by CEO Phil Cappelli, who took the helm following the departure of former CEO Marc Kazlauskas. Kazlauskas recently transitioned to the supplier side to serve as president of Norwegian Cruise Line. McBride’s appointment is part of a strategic restructuring of Avoya’s executive leadership and a “broader organizational evolution” intended to drive long-term success, a spokesperson told TMR.

“Mickey’s expanded role reinforces our commitment to delivering strong performance, enhanced advisor support, and continued innovation across the Avoya Advisor Network,” the group said in a statement on Thursday.

McBride has been with Avoya since May 2013, originally joining as a business development manager. Over the past 13 years, he has held various leadership positions, including director of sales planning, director of partner engagement, AVP of strategic partnerships, and, most recently, vice president of partnerships.

In his new role, McBride serves alongside Cappelli and Karl Treier, Avoya’s chief technology officer, who joined the organization last year.

The promotion comes as Avoya continues its first full year of operation following the departure of the Anderson family. The host agency’s longtime owners fully sold their stake to Certares Inc. in 2025, after the private equity firm took partial ownership in 2021. Certares maintains a significant footprint in the industry, with holdings and investments in Internova Travel Group, LATAM Airlines, and several global hospitality groups.
