Israel & Germany Team Up on Agent Training

Webinar Focuses on Building Israel-Germany Itineraries
Germany and Israel have teamed up to educate travel agents on selling combined Germany-Israel vacations. A joint webinar from the German National Tourist office and the Israel Ministry of Tourism will provide tools for building itineraries that combine the two destinations and emphasize their shared connections.

The webinar will explore Jewish culture in Germany, highlighting the bigger cities, their Jewish culture, landmarks and sights. It will update agents on new happenings and leading sites and destinations, including Jerusalem, Galilee, Eilat, Masada, the Dead Sea, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Cologne, as well as the basics of travel to and within Israel and Germany.  

Jimmy LaPrelle from the German Tourist Office and Karen Kohen, from the Northeast Office of the Israel Ministry of Tourism, will lead the webinar on July 11 at 4 p.m., EST.

New Southeast Asia Fam
Phoenix Voyages is offering an education fam trip for the travel trade to Vietnam and Cambodia this fall. The trip takes agents to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, along the Halong Bay, over to the beaches of Da Nang and to Hoi An. The journey will take place Dec. 7-14. Video Training From Florida Keys
A new Web-based video-learning platform has been launched by the Florida Keys to provide agents with the tools to become certified destination specialists. Seven video modules are available, and each is followed by a short multiple-choice quiz. Each module takes about 30 minutes to complete. Agents who complete all quizzes with a grade of 80% or better will receive an electronic certificate as a Florida Keys destination specialist.

Brand USA Launches Online Agent Training Program
A new online agent training program aimed at agents in the U.K. and Ireland has been launched by Brand USA. The USA Discovery Program is available online to provide foreign agents with the tools to become USA destination specialists. A program focused on Australian agents will launched by year-end.

ASTA Launching Social Media Presence
ASTA will launch social media pages on Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media outlets this month. The organization will have corporate and consumer-facing pages via TravelSense. The pages will tie in with ASTA’s new tagline, “The global advocates for travel. Go with the pros.”
