MAST Travel Network president and COO John Werner will be stepping down from his role at the end of 2025 after nearly 25 years leading the travel agency consortium that he helped grow.
Werner began his career with MAST in August 2000, first serving as vice president of membership sales and business development, before being promoted to president and COO in May 2022.
During his tenure, MAST expanded to more than 205 member offices across 19 states, representing a network of 1,600 travel advisors. He also helped double the consortium’s preferred supplier portfolio, now comprising more than 100 partnerships spanning all segments of the travel industry.
Werner also led the consortium to achieving ASTA’s Regional Consortium Partner of the Year award five times, including five years in a row, with the consortium again nominated in 2025.
“John has been an invaluable part of MAST for over 25 years. His exceptional leadership and relentless drive have been instrumental in transforming MAST into the thriving consortium it is today—a network now perfectly positioned for continued growth in the years ahead,” said Geoff Hendren, chairman of the board and CEO of MAST. “His dedication and vision have not only fueled our expansion but also helped shape the culture and long-term success of the organization. We are deeply grateful for his service and wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
