Travel MarketPlace Sells Out In Toronto

by Richard D’Ambrosio  April 25, 2016

More than 100 exhibitors and nearly 300 leading travel companies will mark the May 2 and 3 Travel MarketPlace sold-out trade show at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto. Educational sessions will highlight how to grow your business, including through social media, e-mail marketing, and other digital tools.

“We are extremely pleased with the sold-out trade show and the number of advance registrations to attend the conference this year,” said Anne Marie Moebes, executive vice president of the show and publisher of Travel Market Report. “Our goal is to continue to meet the educational and networking needs of Canadian travel professionals.”

There will be educational sessions all day Monday and Tuesday morning, and a trade show on Tuesday afternoon, May 3, from 1:30pm–4:00pm. In addition, ACTA will be announcing the winners of its 2016 ACTA/Air Canada Awards on Monday afternoon during the conference.

Returning to Travel MarketPlace for the third year is speaker Ron Cates, international director of digital marketing education at Constant Contact, who will serve as the emcee and share tips and insight on the importance of e-marketing and successful engagement strategies.

Gary Gzik, CEO of BizXcel and an international presenter, trainer, and consultant, will offer a session entitled: “Build a Kick Ass Organization” that walk agents through the steps to unlock the power in every travel company.

Kelly Mwila, founder and CEO of Alaska to Africa Travel, will share tips on how to broaden your corporate travel offering.

Vanessa Mcgovern, EVP business development & strategic partnership of the Global Institute for Travel Entrepreneurs (GITE) will show how to convert sales leads by building an engaging marketing strategy that aligns with your niche.

Steve Gillick, founder of the consultancy Talking Travel: Global Travel Training Solutions, will host two sessions, “Dabblers, Specialists, and Super Specialists,” and “Transformative Adventures that Connect Your Clients to the Experience.”

Emily Baillie, a principal at Compass Content and a social media expert, will host a workshop specially designed for owner/operators. She will discuss tactics and best practices for using social media tools to build customer loyalty and attract new clients.
