Travelport Rolls Out New Product

Travelport rolled out a new product, Travelport Resolve, which is aimed at improving the industry’s handling of air travel disruptions caused by flight delays and cancellations. In an announcement at the Global Business Travel Association’s annual convention in Boston, Travelport said that the idea is to enable airlines to react to disruptions with greater speed and accuracy, especially when it involves providing lodging, meals and transportation for stranded fliers.

Fliers will “bypass the frustration of hotel and meal voucher lines and quickly be on their way to a comfortable hotel room,” said Derek Sharp, Travelport’s senior vice president and managing director, air commerce. Subscribers to the service will immediately be notified after an itinerary change, and passengers can use their mobile devices to select and book accommodations from available local properties, as well as other services.
