Canadian Advisors Can Win Trip to Thailand with G Adventures

Thailand is a top destination for Canadians, and Bangkok routinely appears on lists of the top three global cities to visit. Most first-time visitors to Thailand spend time in Thailand’s capital, and often the northern city of Chiang Mai, as well as an island in the south.

But Puangpen Klanwari, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Canada Office, wants Canadians to know that there’s more to Thailand than these popular destinations. In fact, they are great gateways to some of Thailand’s hidden gems, which are highlighted in G Adventures’ small-group, active and soft adventure tours.

“What we love about G Adventures’ Thailand tours is that they not only take the visitors to well-known areas, but they also give visitors a chance to explore Thailand’s emerging destinations for a truly local experience,” said Aizaz Sheikh, G Adventures’ Canadian marketing director. “By exploring these regions, travelers will be able to discover how diverse Thailand really is. From the beaches and temples to the wildlife and incredible food, there’s literally something for everyone. Thailand is one of G Adventures’ best-selling regions.

The tour operator is joining forces with the Tourism Authority of Thailand on a program to raise Canadians’ awareness of Thailand off the beaten path.

To encourage bookings of G Adventures’ Thailand tours, travel advisors’ clients can save 15% off select Thailand trips between May 14 and June 10, 2019. The deal is being promoted through G Adventures’ newsletter and website, and is supported by online and social media platform advertising.

For every traveler booked on a Thailand trip during this period, advisors will earn one entry into a drawing to win a spot on G Adventures’ 14-day “Northern Thailand Explorer” tour (flights excluded). The trip takes tour participants from the highlights of Bangkok to scenic cities along the mighty Mekong River as it flows through Northern Thailand, through regions with rice fields and temples, spending a good deal of time off the beaten path.

This is just one of the 54 G Adventures Thailand tours available across seven travel styles. Some of the other diverse itineraries include:

  • “Wellness Thailand” — Travelers are immersed in ancient restorative practices, yoga sessions, and healthy food; soak in the country’s culture of kindness with a dip in Pai’s hot springs and a visit to the birthplace of traditional Thai massage at the Wat Po Buddhist temple. This is a 9-day tour from Bangkok to Ko Samui, priced from $1,954 CDN.
  • “Thailand Hike, Bike & Kayak” — Travelers go hiking through forests and rice paddies; cycling through provincial villages; kayaking the turquoise waters of the Andaman, discovering coral coves and white-sand beaches — all the while, experiencing Thailand’s intriguing combination of culture and the great outdoors. This is a 14-day tour from Bangkok return, priced from $1,869 CDN.
  • “Sailing Thailand: Phuket to Phuket” — Travelers go island-hopping in Thailand and experience some of the best snorkeling in the world; enjoy a week aboard a sailing catamaran; work up an appetite snorkeling and dine on Thai cuisine; and sleep moored under the stars. This is a 7-day tour return from Phuket, priced from $1,399 CDN.

Advisors have many options to match clients looking for active, soft adventure within a small-group setting to their ideal type of a Thailand G Adventures itinerary. The month-long campaign with the Tourism Authority of Thailand helps to create consumer awareness and interest in off-the-beaten track adventures in Thailand, and incentives for advisors help to introduce their customers to the country’s lesser-known charms.
