Sabre Adds Visa Commercial Cards to Its Virtual Payments Solution

Sabre Corporation is expanding its Sabre Virtual Payments solution, partnering with Visa to add Visa commercial cards to the system’s payment options.

According to Sabre, the partnership will allow mutual clients of Sabre and Visa to have access to the solution, which will give them faster, and more secure, payment options. It also eliminates the need to use personal credit cards.

“Bringing together Visa’s leadership position in digital B2B payments with Sabre’s virtual payment technology and global network of customers represents a tremendous opportunity to increase the adoption of B2B virtual payments in the travel industry,” said Wade Jones, president of Sabre Travel Network.

“Sabre’s investment in virtual payments and its integration into existing agency processes makes it quick and easy for our customers to adopt and use.”

Sabre’s virtual payment option allows travel agencies to get the best financial terms for each transaction; and allows for travel management companies to lower costs and use automatic reconciliation, saving time during the booking process.

It works by issuing a unique card number for each specific booking. That card number functions as a traditional credit card but with more features, including payment tracking via a mobile device and taking away any expense management stress for corporate travel as the payments are automatically matched with pre-approved bookings.
