American Airlines is adding new direct service between New York City and Tokyo later this year.

American will fly from New York’s JFK International Airport (JFK) and Tokyo Haneda (HND) daily starting on June 28. The carrier will operate the service on a Boeing 777-200.

The service is American’s fourth daily nonstop into HND, joining daily service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and twice daily service from Los Angeles International (LAX). The new addition will make American the only U.S. carrier operating nonstop between JFK and HND.

American also has a joint venture with Japan Airlines, which offers its own twice-daily service from JFK to HND. That partnership also allows for connections to more than 30 cities across Japan, including Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka, and more. In total, through that venture, American and Japan offer up to 17 daily flights between the continental U.S. and Japan once the new JFK service launches.

Tickets are now on sale.
