Beginning in December 2023, travelers can fly nonstop from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ) on Frontier Airlines.

Frontier is the first and only airline to offer a flight from PHL to SDQ without stops. The airline is currently offering fares as low as $99 for those who are traveling between Dec. 17, 2023 and Feb. 13, 2024. For this promotional offer, flights must be booked by 11:59 p.m. Aug. 29, 2023.

“From its stunning beaches to beautiful cities, the Dominican Republic is a gem among Caribbean destinations,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial at Frontier Airlines. “Frontier is proud to offer the only nonstop service from Philly to the capital of the D.R. With Frontier’s ‘Low Fares Done Right,’ this international tropical paradise is now within easy reach for consumers in the greater Philadelphia area.”

For the $99 promotion, a roundtrip ticket is not required. Flights from PHL to SDQ will generally occur three times a week, but the schedule is subject to change. The following are blackout dates: Nov. 18-22, 24-27, 2023; Dec. 20-24, 26-31, 2023; Jan. 1-6, 12, 15, 2024.

With the addition of Santo Domingo, Frontier will now serve 27 destinations from PHL. The airline says that this will contribute to a total 70% increase in its seats from the Philadelphia airport since December 2019.

“We are excited for Frontier’s nonstop service between Philadelphia and Santo Domingo,” said Atif Saeed, CEO of Philadelphia International Airport. “Philadelphia has a growing Dominican population and is home to a recently established Consulate General of the Dominican Republic. Not only is the route launching in time for the winter vacation season, it will also provide many Philadelphia-area residents with a direct connection to visit their loved ones during the upcoming holiday season and beyond. We thank Frontier for providing this route for our passengers.”

Frontier prides itself on its discounted fares, frequent flyer program, which awards customers with one mile per mile flown, and its low-priced WORKS bundle, which includes refundability, a carry-on bag, a checked bag, the best available seat, waived change fees, and priority boarding.
