Celebrity Cruises Celebrates Keel Laying for Fourth Edge-Class Ship

Construction of Celebrity Ascent, the fourth in the line’s popular Edge-class of cruise ship, officially began this week as workers at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard welded a ceremonial coin to the ship’s keel.
“Today, we celebrate the incredible Celebrity Ascent, a ship name that fittingly represents the climb, the rise and, ultimately, the upward trajectory of both Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean Group,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “It’s exciting to have our entire fleet back in the water, again, and moments like this reaffirm or bright future.”
Celebrity Ascent will debut in Fort Lauderdale on December 3, 2023 for an inaugural season of alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings.
