After 40 dates from the Irish rock band U2, the Las Vegas Sphere, the newest addition to the city’s strip, is getting another residency.

Dead & Company, the spinoff of the Grateful Dead, will play an 18-show residency at the Sphere starting in May. The shows will run over six consecutive weeks from May 16 through June 22.

The band, which had completed what was marketed as its final tour in 2023, is made up primarily of former Grateful Dead members including Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bull Kreutzmann, along with some other musicians including John Mayer. The band teased the residency with a Reel on Instagram.

Dead & Company will be the third band to play the Sphere after U2 and Phish, which will play the venue on April 18, 19, 20, and 21 this spring. Tickets for Dead & Company’s shows will go on sale on Feb. 5. Tickets for the Phish shows sold out quickly after going on sale last year.
