The former Holyrood Hotel in Edinburgh relaunched this week as the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood, marking the completion of an extensive £10 million refurbishment.

Located in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic old town across from the Scottish Parliament building, the refurbishment brought the hotel – now under new management – up to Marriott’s hotel standards.

“The relaunch of Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood is an exciting development for the city and the Marriott brand,” said Michael Falla, general manager of the hotel. “Bringing the aesthetic of the property and quality up to Marriott standards is testament to the hotel team’s hard work and commitment to take the hotel on the next stage of its journey.”

Highlights of the revamped hotel include a new spa and fitness center with a 14-meter heated pool, infrared sauna, and fully equipped gym, as well a “great room”-style lobby with bar, dining area, and lifestyle space.

The 160 guest rooms include junior suites, deluxe, and king rooms with wooden floors, walk-in showers, 55-inch wall-mounted TVs, and more.

Marriott’s M Club Lounge has also been added on the first floor. It’s open to several tiers of the Bonvoy reward program offering 24/7 access.
