Avalon Waterways is promoting two industry veterans to lead the river cruise line into the future ahead of the pending retirement of managing director Patrick Clark.

Pam Hoffee, who spent the past 13 years as vice president of product and operations at the Globus family of brands, will join Avalon as chief product and worldwide operations officer. She worked with Avalon before, overseeing the operations of the company’s new suite ships in Southeast Asia.

Terri Burke, the former head of key retail partnerships for Globus and director of national accounts for Avalon, will now head sales, marketing and promotional efforts for the river cruise as its managing director.

Clark has been with Avalon since 2005. He will stay on as chairman into 2017 before retiring.
