Princess Cruises Unveils Public Spaces Onboard Sun Princess

by Dori Saltzman  February 03, 2023
Princess Cruises Unveils Public Spaces Onboard Sun Princess

When it debuts in early 2024, Sun Princess will feature a theater in the round, a three-story main dining room, and the line’s largest ever casino.

“With the construction of any new ship, we have the incredible opportunity to design standout spaces with our guests’ preferences in mind,” said Princess Cruises’ president John Padgett. “With the new platform and size of Sun Princess, we’re uniquely able to refresh venues we know our guests love and expand upon, redesign and elevate them to the next level. We know our sun-inspired designs will exceed expectations and elevate the entire Princess experience.”

Dining
A first for Princess, the Horizons Dining Room will be a three-story venue with wake views and a decorative sculpture that stretches from deck 6 to deck 8. Each deck will have its own personality, offering different dining experiences and range in levels of formality.

What’s a Princess ship without an Alfredo’s Pizzeria? Onboard Sun Princess, Alfredo’s will have the familiar open kitchen design, along with a new-to-Princess style of open-mouth oven for even more authentic Neapolitan-style pizza.

Other Princess’ dining favorites that will return on Sun Princess include Crown Grill and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, International Café, and the Gelateria.

Entertainment
The main theater onboard Sun Princess will be the Princess Arena, an in-the-round style space that features multiple configurations, moveable seats, and a capacity for just under 1,000 people.

The casino on Sun Princess will be the largest in the Princess fleet, in both size and number of gaming positions. It will be located in the Piazza.

Also returning on Sun Princess will be Princess Live!, which will combine design elements of previous Princess Live! venues with the Explorer’s Lounge. The space, which will offer full beverage service, will be home to game shows, trivia, and the daily Wake Show.

Other signature Princess lounges returning onboard Sun Princess will be Crooner’s, Good Spirits and the Wheelhouse Bar.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, Sun Princess will be the largest ship in the Princess fleet accommodating 4,000 guests. A highlight of the ship will be The Dome, a cutting-edge day-to-night entertainment space “inspired by the terraces of Santorini.”
