Travel Market Place West 2022 Opens in Vancouver

After a full two-year absence, Travel Market Place West returned on Monday, bringing advisors and suppliers together for the first time in Vancouver since the last edition of the conference in 2020.
“We are so happy to be back,” TMR publisher Anne Marie Moebes told attendees on Monday. “It feels almost surreal.”
Over 200 attendees came out to the Parq Vancouver for the conference. Monday was day one of the two-day conference and sessions focused how on advisors can rebuild their business at the same time as helping the industry regain its footing two years after COVID-19.
“Everybody in this room—you are a fighter, and I love that and I love you,” Lorraine Simpson, the travel specialist for Cityline TV and owner of Lorraine Simpson Travels, said on the main stage.
One of the opening sessions was focused on helping advisors protect themselves during that fight. Tim Law, a partner at Heifetz, Crozier, and Law, walked advisors through what they had to know about Duty of Care and the creation and effective use of terms and conditions, something that has become so crucial in the age of COVID-19.
Monday also featured the TMP Trade Show, one of the first of its kind in the city over the last three years, along with sessions on diversity, becoming an Instagram expert, types and ways to sell group travel, and a panel discussion on the present and future of the cruise industry.
