Air Canada Extends Dubai Suspension, Maintains Extra Delhi Flights

Air Canada Extends Dubai Suspension, Maintains Extra Delhi Flights

Air Canada has extended the suspension of Dubai flights.

Air Canada won’t be flying to Dubai anytime soon. The airline has extended the suspension of flights through April 30 due to the ongoing war in Iran, which has impacted several other countries in the region.

As the conflict nears the three-week mark, air travel continues to be massively disrupted throughout the Middle East. Air Canada’s Tel Aviv service is currently suspended through at least May 2.

“Due to the military situation in the Middle East, all flights to and from Dubai (DXB) and Tel Aviv (TLV) remain suspended. If you are in either of these regions, please do not head to the airport. Your safety is our top priority,” says a service update from Air Canada.

Airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha are important hubs between North America, Europe and Asia. Traffic through those airports has been severely impacted by the war.

As a partial routing workaround, Air Canada continues to offer extra flights on its Toronto-Delhi route. The carrier will operate 14 weekly flights on the route until March 27, with plans to drop to 10 weekly from March 30 to April 29. AC is also using larger aircraft on the route to accommodate demand.
