Alaska Airlines is adding two new international routes from Seattle (SEA) to Athens (ATH) and Paris (CDG) starting in May 2027, further expanding its long-haul roster out of its main hub.
The Athens flight will launch May 12, 2027, operating three times weekly as the first direct connection between the two cities and the only nonstop flight between the U.S. West Coast and Greece. The route will carry flight number AS196, paying homage to 1896, the year of the first modern Olympic Games held in Athens.
The Paris flight will launch May 25, 2027, running five times weekly through October. The service establishes Alaska as the first oneworld alliance carrier to offer nonstop flights between the West Coast and Paris.
Both routes will operate on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners equipped with lie-flat business class suites and Starlink Wi-Fi.
The new routes fit into Alaska’s broader international push in Seattle. Alaska is ramping up to 12 long-haul international destinations from Seattle by 2030. It is also preparing to open a flagship 41,000-square-foot, two-level lounge at Sea-Tac in late 2027, featuring a dedicated upper deck for international long-haul travelers.
