Airport security company CLEAR has expanded its operations to the new Terminal 1 at San Diego International Airport (SAN) and is now operating dedicated lanes in both of the airport’s terminals.
Terminal 1 officially opened its doors to its first passenger flights on Tuesday, replacing the old facility which dated back to 1967 and closed on Monday night. The new termina offers a significantly enhanced passenger experience, featuring 30 gates, 13 total security lanes (up from 10 in the old terminal), 30 new restaurants and retail stores, and electric vehicle charging stations in its parking lot. An additional phase of construction is set to begin soon after the demolition of the old terminal building is complete.
For travelers, the expanded CLEAR service is part of that new experience. Membership runs at $17 per month, with discounts available through partners including American Express, Delta SkyMiles, and United MileagePlus.
CLEAR is also introducing its Concierge service to San Diego, which offers two specialized options for members. The first is Concierge Express where a dedicated CLEAR Ambassador meets you curbside and guides you quickly through the CLEAR Lane for a stress-free start to your journey. The other is Concierge Gate Service, which includes all the benefits of Concierge Express, along with help with check-in, bags, directions, and guidance all the way to your gate.
