A tropical disturbance sweeping over Central Florida on Tuesday is likely to cause headaches for travelers in Orlando and the surrounding area this afternoon.
The flood watch runs through 8 p.m. local time and includes much of Central Florida, including Orlando, Kissimmee, and Cape Canaveral.
For travelers headed out of, or into, Orlando International Airport (MCO) on Tuesday, the weather is likely to impact flight schedules.
According to FlightAware, as of 2:30 p.m. local time, about 15% of the outbound schedule (82 flights) and another 12% of the inbound (70 flights) were delayed, numbers that are likely to increase as rain picks up into the evening.
As of that same time, cancellations were still low — just 8 flights, or 1% of the schedule, had been scrapped — but that’s another number that could get higher as rain impacts the area.
