Porter Airlines Launches New Routes from Montreal MET

by Catherine Maisonneuve  March 24, 2026
Porter Airlines Launches New Routes from Montreal MET

Porter Airlines will introduce 12 nonstop routes across Canada from MET – Montreal Metropolitan Airport beginning June 15, positioning Montréal at the centre of a new coast-to-coast network.

Located in Longueuil on Montréal’s South Shore, MET offers a convenient alternative for more than 50% of the region’s population, with easy access to downtown and central neighbourhoods.

Passengers departing from MET will experience a modern, purpose-built terminal featuring an open-concept departures lounge with comfortable seating throughout. Developed and operated by YHU Infrastructure Partners, the facility emphasizes efficiency and passenger comfort, with a compact design that significantly reduces processing times for both departures and arrivals.

Porter’s inaugural schedule places Montréal at the heart of a national network, with the following routes launching in June:

  • Québec City – June 15 (7x weekly)
  • St. John’s – June 15 (7x weekly)
  • Toronto Billy Bishop – June 15 (27x weekly)
  • Toronto Pearson – June 15 (20x weekly)
  • Vancouver – June 15 (14x weekly)
  • Edmonton – June 16 (7x weekly)
  • Calgary – June 17 (7x weekly)
  • Halifax – June 17 (14x weekly)
  • Charlottetown – June 18 (7x weekly)
  • Winnipeg – June 18 (7x weekly)
  • Moncton – June 19 (7x weekly)
  • Hamilton – June 22 (14x weekly)

All flights are now available for booking.

Operations at MET will be served by a mix of De Havilland Dash 8-400 (78 seats) and Embraer E195-E2 (132 seats) aircraft.

Montréal has been central to Porter’s network since its launch in 2006, initially serving the city via Montréal–Trudeau International Airport. The addition of MET will drive a 91% increase in Porter’s peak summer capacity in the Montréal market, including six new nonstop destinations.

The introduction of MET complements Porter’s continued investment in Montréal–Trudeau, providing travellers with greater flexibility and choice across two airports. At peak, Porter will operate up to 244 weekly departures from Montréal—138 from MET and 106 from Trudeau.

According to Michael Deluce, President and CEO of Porter Airlines, the new terminal represents a significant private-sector investment in regional transportation infrastructure and aligns with the airline’s commitment to delivering a high-quality, passenger-focused travel experience.

“The new MET terminal development represents an exceptional private investment in transportation infrastructure that Greater Montreal will benefit from for generations. Porter is bringing a wide range of flight options to the airport, along with a genuine commitment to the community. Our philosophy is to treat everyone with care and this is perfectly complemented by the overall travel experience passengers will enjoy at MET.

We are eager to begin this journey with an unprecedented amount of new service.”
