Air Canada Adds Spain’s Seville to Growing European Network from YUL

Air Canada Adds Spain’s Seville to Growing European Network from YUL

Seville, Spain.

Air Canada will launch service between Montréal and Seville, Spain, starting in September 2027.

Known for its rich history, vibrant culture, acclaimed cuisine and position as the gateway to Andalusia, the city offers an ideal escape not just during summer, but through the spring and fall months when temperatures are milder, and the pace more relaxed.

“The addition of Seville further bolsters Air Canada’s growing global network and cements Air Canada as the largest airline by seats offered between Canada and Spain,” said Mark Galardo, EVP & Chief Commercial Officer.

“As the only non-stop service between the city and North America, Air Canada’s new service will unlock more of Andalusia and the world for our customers and Aeroplan Members while delivering a step-change in global connectivity for Seville,” Galardo added.

“Enabled by the next-generation capabilities of our expanding Airbus A321XLR fleet, Seville builds upon recent additions to Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife and marks another unique Air Canada destination in Southern Europe,” he concluded.

José Luis Sanz, Mayor of Sevilla, welcomed the announcement: “Today, Sevilla is taking a historic step forward in its international connectivity. The arrival of Air Canada means much more than just the launch of a new route; for the first time, our city will have a direct transoceanic connection that will link us to Canada and strengthen our ties with North America,” Sanz said.

“We are truly delighted to welcome this new air connection. It marks another important step in strengthening connectivity between Canada and Spain,” said Isabel Martín Benítez, Consul for Tourism Affairs, Embassy of Spain in Canada.

“I am confident that Canadian travellers will fall in love with Seville, a city with a unique culture and vibrant spirit, and that this new route will open up opportunities to discover the many wonderful places Andalusia has to offer.”

The route will operate three times weekly from September 8, 2027, increasing to four weekly flights beginning October 1, 2027. Flights will be operated using Air Canada’s new Airbus A321XLR aircraft.

The single-aisle aircraft features 14 Signature Class lie-flat seats and 168 Economy Class seats.

Timed to connect through Air Canada’s Montréal hub, the new service will provide seamless access to destinations across North America, the Caribbean and Latin America.
