Air Transat to Launch Toronto-Istanbul Route; Grows Partnership with Turkish Airlines

Air Transat is launching a new Toronto and Istanbul route starting December 6th as and has established a new interline partnership with Turkish Airlines. The new route will be twice weekly, operating Tuesdays and Saturdays and the airline says the partnership will strengthen air service between Canada and Türkiye and increase access for Canadians across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
In a press release, Air Transat said “the commencement of newly introduced direct flights, both airlines will be able to provide enriched services for the passengers through this partnership.”
Since 2024, Istanbul has been accessible visa-free to Canadian citizens, and it attracts millions of visitors every year thanks to its unique heritage, cosmopolitan atmosphere, and diverse tourism offerings.
This new service enhances Air Transat’s presence in Toronto by leveraging the seamless connections available through its joint venture with Porter Airlines, particularly from Western Canada, Ottawa, Montreal, and the Maritimes.
Tickets for this new route will be available for booking within the next few days.
