Fiji Airways, the flag carrier of Fiji and the South Pacific, is now officially a part of the oneworld alliance.

The airline joins 13 other carriers in the alliance, including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, and Qatar Airways. Airlines in the oneworld alliance partner on network connectivity and loyalty benefits.

As part of the move, Fiji Airways has also adopted the American Airlines AAdvantage program as its frequent flyer program, allowing passengers to earn and redeem AAdvantage points when flying within the oneworld network.

Andre Viljoen, Fiji Airways’ managing director and CEO, called the move a “major milestone” for the airline.

“Becoming a full member of the oneworld alliance is a proud and momentous milestone for Fiji Airways. This achievement reflects our commitment to providing world-class service and expanding our global reach while showcasing the warmth and hospitality of Fiji to the world,” Viljoen said. “As a full member, we are excited to offer our customers even greater benefits and seamless connectivity across the extensive oneworld network.”

Hawaiian Airlines is the next carrier expected to join oneworld. Alaska Airlines, which acquired Hawaiian for $1 billion in 2024, said it expects the airline to officially join the alliance in 2026.
