Civil aviation unions in France have called on staff at the DGAC, the country’s civil aviation authority, to join Thursday’s national strike on Nov. 5, which could bring flight cancellations and delays, including at Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Unions have called on air traffic control workers and other airport workers to join the one-day walkout, as workers call for inflation compensation.
France, which has been embroiled in turmoil due to protests about the rising cost of living and other issues for weeks now, is preparing to come to a standstill on November 5, with unions calling for a ‘general mobilization’ of workers across the country.
The call, spearheaded by the CGT, France’s second-largest union, covers both private- and public-sector workers.
No flight cancellations have been officially confirmed yet, though France’s civil aviation authority is expected to announce potential airline schedule reductions leading up to the walkout.
ConnectionFrance reports that the DGAC will confirm on Wednesday if airports have been asked to reschedule flights due to expected disruption.
