Porter Airlines Inaugurates Toronto-Puerto Vallarta
by Marsha Mowers
In a sure sign of its maturation, Porter is seeing its pilots and cabin crew members move to unionize.
Porter Airlines inaugurated roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Mexico on Friday (November 14) further expanding the carrier’s growing sun network. The new route offers Canadian travellers easier access to Mexico’s vibrant Pacific coastline.
The seasonal service begins with three weekly roundtrip flights, increasing to five per week as of December 14. Additional nonstop flights from Hamilton and Ottawa to Puerto Vallarta are set to launch in December, providing even more sun-destination options for Canadian travellers this winter.
“Launching our inaugural flight to Puerto Vallarta further expands Porter’s presence in Mexico and fulfills a longstanding demand from Canadian travellers,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines. “We are excited to offer our elevated economy experience on this popular route, and believe passengers will appreciate the genuine care and hospitality that only Porter provides.”
This inaugural flight is part of Porter’s extensive winter schedule offerings to Mexico, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Florida, Arizona, and California. The network complements flights from joint venture partner Air Transat.
VIPorter members can redeem points for sun market travel on Porter and Air Transat, starting at 10,000 points one way.
