Access to Los Cabos from Canada continues to grow as Porter Airlines announces new non-stop route for winter 2026-2027 from Toronto, Edmonton and Ottawa. The news complements Air Transat’s recent announcement of service from Montreal.
Porter will operate direct service from Toronto three times weekly, Ottawa twice weekly, and Edmonton four times weekly beginning November 16, 2026.
Porter’s service is in addition with the recent announcement of new Air Transat service from Montreal once weekly beginning December 10, 2026.
In the announcement, Los Cabos Tourism says the increased service reflects sustained interest from Canadian travellers and growing confidence from airline partners in the market.
“Canada has become one of our most important international markets, and we’re seeing that growth expand across the country,” says Rodrigo Esponda, Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. “Airlines are adding service because demand is strong and consistent, and because Los Cabos offers an experience that continues to resonate with Canadian travellers.”
Canadians are the second largest international market, with an average stay of 11 nights and average spend of $4600 CDN, making us one of the strongest-performing international growth markets for Los Cabos in 2025. Canadian visitation was 215,933 in 2025, up 10% over year and 9.3% of total international arrivals.

Last month, Travel Market Report Canada met with Esponda who said the board believes that “travellers now are not just looking for experiences, they want to connect their emotions with the destination.”
This latest expansion builds on continued strength from Canada, which ranks as Los Cabos’ second-largest international source market after the United States. Forward-looking data points to further growth in air capacity in the months ahead, while increased access from Eastern Canada continues to broaden connectivity beyond traditional Western gateways.
