Hamilton-area residents can travel to Ottawa this summer without having to travel to Toronto Pearson, thanks to a new Porter Airlines service between YHM and YOW.
Starting June 22, two daily flights will connect the Ottawa airport with Hamilton, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Flight time is about one hour.
“This new route gives passengers more options and greater convenience. Hamilton travellers can now fly seamlessly to Ottawa and easily connect to destinations across Atlantic Canada and the U.S. East Coast, including Boston and New York,” said Andrew Pierce, Porter Airlines VP, network planning and reporting.

“At the same time, Ottawa passengers gain direct access to Hamilton, the gateway to Niagara region wineries, 100-plus waterfalls and a vibrant culinary scene – there’s lots to explore for every type of visitor.”
Porter’s Ottawa operation is enlarging with new flights to Deer Lake, Newfoundland starting June 10, to Windsor and Sudbury beginning May 1 and to Kelowna on May 13.
This announcement follows Porter’s move to add flights to Newfoundland and Labrador starting June 10. The airline is also adding non-stop flights from Ottawa to Windsor and Sudbury on May 1, to Kelowna as of May 13.
Earlier this week, Porter announced regular service between the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport and YHM.
