Turkish Airlines Celebrates Top Performers

Turkish Airlines Executives and Partners gathered in Toronto Monday night for their Agency Award Gala.

Turkish Airlines brought together their top-performing wholesalers, travel agencies, partners, and industry leaders Monday night in Toronto for their Agency Award Gala at the Design Exchange.

Taking home honours in the Top Performer category were: Touristanbul: Cedar Travel; Leisure: Uniglobe; Corporate: Flight Centre; Group: International Travel; Istanbul: Voyages à la Carte; Economy Class: Royal Scenic Holidays; and Business Class: Voyzant Travel. Top Performer of the Year was Voyages à la Carte.

Voyzant Travel was awarded for Highest Increase in Sales. Appreciation awards were given out to Skybird Travel, Riya Travel, Maureen K Travel, Westend Travel, Atlas Travel and Travel Brands – Air Booking Centre.

The airline is also celebrating the 5th anniversary of Turkish Airlines’ Toronto–Istanbul route (launched in 2009), and currently flies to 353 destinations in 131 countries across six continents – a number that’s gotten them the Guinness World Record for “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline”.

Daily flights (7x weekly) operated June–October 2024 from Toronto to Istanbul — a first for the airline in Canada as passenger traffic between Canada and Türkiye increased by 15% compared to 2023.

302,728 Canadians entered Türkiye in 2024 with Canadian passports — a 22% increase from the year before. Load factors were also high; with 88% seasonal average overall, which is among the highest utilization rates in the global network.

Earlier this month, the airline announced they were bringing Turkish Airlines Holidays to Canada. Canadian guests of the Turkish flag carrier can now arrange flights, hotel stays, tours, activities, car rentals, airport transfers, travel insurance and more at this website.
