WestJet is keeping its punctuality streak alive.

The Calgary-based carrier has been named North America’s most on-time airline for the fifth consecutive month, according to the latest Cirium On-Time Performance Report, maintaining its lead through the busy summer travel season.

In September, WestJet operated approximately 17,390 flights, with 85.31 per cent arriving on time, placing it first among major North American airlines.

The result put WestJet nearly three percentage points ahead of the next highest-ranked carrier, reinforcing its position at the top of the continent’s punctuality rankings.

“This achievement would not be possible without the incredible dedication of WestJetters across our network, from flight crews and maintenance teams to airport, network, customer service and operations teams” stated Diederik Pen, president of WestJet Airlines and chief operating officer at WestJet Group in a press release.

“Maintaining this performance for five consecutive months, particularly through the peak summer travel season, is a testament to the care, teamwork and operational excellence our people bring to work every day.”

The latest results mark another operational milestone for the airline as it prepares for the winter travel season.

WestJet says its performance reflects continued efforts to improve operational reliability across its network, supported by collaboration among flight crews, maintenance personnel, airport teams and customer service employees.

“Our guests count on us to get them where they need to go safely and reliably, and while we know there is always more to do and head into our busy winter season, we are proud of the progress we are making to deliver an even more dependable travel experience,” added Pen.
