Huntington Travel Group Launches Cruise Products, Names Sundram as Manager

Christabel Sundram has joined Huntington Travel Group to focus on small ship cruise products.

One of Canada’s leading travel consolidators for five decades, Huntington Travel Group has announced the launch of cruise products that it says will fill a gap in the market for a wholesale small ship cruise reseller. Named to manage the new venture is Christabel Sundram, who brings over two decades of industry experience.

With an extensive background in wholesale travel and cruise sales, Sundram holds strong expertise in small ship cruises, including river, barge and ocean varieties. She spent over 14 years at Exclusive Tours by Merit Travel, where she played a key role in selling ‘Small Ship Cruise Collections’ to Canadian advisors.

Her duties involved collaborating with suppliers to coordinate pre-and post -cruise extensions, organizing group reservations, managing operations, and promoting small ship cruising to the market.

Huntington said it aims to build a stronger market presence for its cruise product by diversifying into small ship and river cruises. The company said the new offering will provide travel advisors with additional revenue-generating opportunities and curated travel options to meet the needs of a wide array of clients.

Huntington sees promise is river and small ship cruising.

“With over two decades of experience in the travel industry, I’ve had the privilege of building lasting relationships with travel suppliers, cruise suppliers, and travel advisors, and I’m proud to say that my passion for creating unforgettable travel experiences has only grown stronger with time,” said Sundram.

“Huntington’s cruise product intends to fill the gap left in the Canadian market for a wholesale small ship cruise reseller. Our goal is to provide travel advisors with a complete product — one that offers competitive differentiation, is easy to sell, and ensures a lucrative commission income. We are excited to introduce unique pre- and post-cruise experiences, making group bookings seamless, while delivering exclusive, culturally immersive experiences tailored to travellers’ needs.”

Huntington Travel aims to support Canadian travel advisors by offering a specialized, turnkey cruise product, with a focus on creating unforgettable travel experiences within the river and small ship cruising segments. The company says its cruise products will facilitate group bookings, ensuring seamless arrangements and the inclusion of exclusive local experiences —  for example, arranging a private mass at the Bambino di Praga Cathedral, or an evening of Classical Music in the Spanish Synagogue.

“This cruise product offering reaffirms Huntington Travel Group’s commitment to providing innovative products backed by genuine personalized service,” said Michael Fernandes, Director Hotel & Ancillary Products.

Travel advisors interested in learning more about Huntington Cruise products and its offerings are encouraged to visit the website and connect with Sundram for further details at cruises@huntingtontravel.com.
