Air Canada Vacations Pitches Portugal’s Azores as Europe’s Next Must-Visit Destination

Air Canada Vacations Pitches Portugal’s Azores as Europe’s Next Must-Visit Destination

Portugal’s beautiful Azores is easy to reach this summer with Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations.

The 150 Canadian travel advisors who visited the Azores in late 2024 on an ACTA destination immersion trip don’t have to be convinced. They loved Portugal’s Azores, a series of volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

This summer, Air Canada Vacations is making it easier for Canadians to discover the island chain known for emerald landscapes, crater lakes, dramatic coastlines and a refreshingly slow pace of life.

Operating from Toronto from June 11 to September 6, Air Canada Vacations is shining a spotlight on the Azores as one of the season’s most exciting emerging destinations, perfect for travellers craving wellness, adventure and unforgettable food experiences in nature.

The glorious colours of Portugal’s Azores.

Often described as Europe’s hidden paradise, the Azores offer travellers the chance to truly disconnect. With a comfortable temperate climate, the islands feature highlights including rolling green hills blanketed with hydrangeas, volcanic hot springs, rugged coastal trails and ocean adventures.

It’s a place where travel slows down. Days can be spent soaking in geothermal pools, hiking along crater lakes, sampling fresh, tasty local cuisine and exploring small villages.

Air Canada Vacations offers flexible ways to experience the islands:

Your clients can choose between seven curated tour packages (either self-guided or partially guided), featuring international and domestic flights (for select packages), hotel, transfers, daily breakfast, as well as select activities and excursions. Some tour packages also come with car rentals.

For travellers looking to immerse themselves in the archipelago’s laid-back lifestyle, they can select an Azores-only ACV itinerary. Also available are multi-destination journeys combining the Azores with mainland Portugal and Madeira Island.

Curated tours highlight the best of the destination, from outdoor exploration and scenic drives to culinary experiences rooted in the islands’ rich agricultural heritage.

For added peace of mind, travellers can enhance their trip with flexible travel protection plans, so they can explore the Azores knowing they’re covered if the unexpected arises. Click here to learn more.
