Discover America Canada is extending a heartfelt invitation to members of the travel industry to join in honouring the memory of Casey Canevari at the annual U.S. Thanksgiving/Holiday Season event taking place on December 4 in Toronto.
A non-voting board member at Discover America Canada, Canevari is described by Discover America Canada as “a unifying force in our industry” who played an important role in helping shape the organization’s events, membership growth and partnerships.
His sudden passing earlier this year left a profound impact on the Canada-U.S. travel community and discover America Canada says his passion for connecting people and unwavering support of Canadian partners helped strengthen the bridge between Canada and U.S. travel.

The group is working closely with Canevari’s family and Brand USA to ensure that the event reflects the spirit of the man and Casey’s wife Christine Canevari will be an honoured guest.
“We welcome all travel industry colleagues who knew and worked with Casey to join us in remembering his warmth, generosity, and the impact he made on both our industry and our hearts,” Discover America Canada says in a press release.
The event will feature a memory box for guests in attendance to contribute any stories or tributes about Canevari – a nice memento for his family to read through on their own time and recognize the impact he made.
Discover America Canada is also sharing a fundraising link to the Canevari Memorial Fund, which his family created in support of his children’s college savings as well as a support/scholarship fund for future travel/tourism professionals.
Attendees are encouraged to wear the colour purple to raise awareness of Epilepsy in Casey’s honour.
