Intrepid Launches New Range of Premium Family Trips

Intrepid Launches New Range of Premium Family Trips

Intrepid is launching a new range of premium family tours.

According to an Intrepid Travel-commissioned survey conducted by Wakefield Research, 83% of Canadian parents have taken vacations with their children to expose them to new cultures and places.

“Canadian parents see travel as more than a holiday, it’s a way to help children learn about the world.” said Christian Wolters, Intrepid’s President, Canada.

The wider findings from the new study point to a growing opportunity for travel experiences that combine cultural enrichment with ease. Intrepid is answering that demand with a new Premium Family range of trips with itineraries designed to offer more inclusions and hands-on experiences for families.

The survey also found that 83% of parents experience stress when travelling with family – including the top concern of things going wrong, such as delays, cancellations or illness (41%), followed by safety worries (37%).  And 70% of adults surveyed say they would pay a premium for holidays where the planning, logistics and other potential pain points are handled for them — a demand Intrepid is responding to with its new Premium Family range.

The new group family offerings include hands-on, educational experiences for families travelling together, from Arabic calligraphy classes with local artists in Morocco to cooking with local families in India.

“We know family travel can come with real stress. Our trips have always been designed to take that weight off parents so they can relax and enjoy,” Wolters said. “With our new Premium Family range, we’re taking that comfort and convenience even further, offering even more inclusions, more seamless planning, and elevated experiences throughout the journey.”

The new Premium Family range includes eight new trips across Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, India, Borneo, Vietnam, Morocco, Thailand and Egypt. Designed for small groups of three to five like-minded families and led by Intrepid’s most experienced local guides, the range combines elevated accommodation and extensive inclusions with immersive, kid-friendly travel experiences.

The new offering brings together Intrepid’s most comfortable travel style – Premium – and its established Family range, which already spans more than 50 itineraries worldwide and recorded 19% year-on-year growth in 2025.

Highlights of the new itineraries include:

  • A night in a Sahara desert camp on the 10-day Morocco Premium Family Holiday, where families will enjoy a traditional dinner, watch live Gnaoua music and stargaze under an uninterrupted sky.
  • On the 9-day Borneo Premium Family Holiday, families stay in an overwater villa, where they can kayak, snorkel and stand-up paddleboard, and take part in a coral planting workshop to learn about the region’s delicate marine ecosystem.
  • The 8-day India Golden Triangle Premium Family Holiday offers the chance to see an impressive diversity of birdlife on a rickshaw ride through Keoladeo National Park and spot wildlife at Jhalana Leopard Safari Park on an open-roof 4WD safari.

Intrepid Travel now offers 58 family tours, spanning 6 continents and 30 countries. The tours are available in four styles, Basix, Original, Comfort and now Premium with each style offering progressively more inclusions, elevated experiences and higher standard accommodation. The new Premium Family trips are available to book and will depart from December 2026.
