Snowbird Advisor Releases New Guide for Travelling to US
by Marsha Mowers
A principled stance can bring undesirable consequences.
Snowbirds have been particularly impacted by the new registration requirements for travellers to the US, so to help, Snowbird Advisor has released a guide to help them navigate the new system.
The new rules require some visitors who spend 30 days or more in the United States to register online with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and will primarily impact Canadian snowbirds who spend long periods of time in the U.S.
“Many snowbirds have expressed anxiety and confusion about whether the new rules apply to them and what they need to do to comply,” said Stephen Fine, President of Snowbird Advisor.
“Unfortunately, their anxiety and confusion has been further compounded by the overwhelming amount of inaccurate and conflicting information being circulating online and by word-of-mouth,” Fine added. “Our goal is to combat this misinformation by providing Canadian travellers with a clear, detailed, accurate resource that explains the new registration rules.”
The guide, which will be updated regularly, consolidates information from official U.S. government resources and aims to:
- Provide a clear overview of the new registration rules
- Help individuals determine if they are required to register
- Offer step by step details on how to register
- Answer Frequently Asked Questions about the new rules
Canadians visiting the U.S. for 30 days or more can find the guide here: Guide to U.S. Registration Requirements for Canadian Snowbirds Spending 30 Days Or More in the U.S.
