Thailand Tourism Launches Digital Sustainable Travel Platform

by Marsha Mowers  December 19, 2025
Thailand Tourism Launches Digital Sustainable Travel Platform

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched TravelGreenThailand.com, a new digital platform designed to help travellers explore Thailand through a more sustainable and responsible approach. The launch builds on Thailand’s role as host of the Tourism Cares Global Meaningful Travel Summit in September 2025, which brought together global leaders in responsible tourism.

“Sustainability is not a trend—it’s Thailand’s path forward,” said Pornpan Instratat, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Los Angeles Office. “With TravelGreenThailand.com, we’re inviting travellers and industry partners to rethink tourism in a way that respects local culture, protects the environment, and supports communities.”

The site highlights eco-friendly destinations, community-based tourism experiences, and practical travel tips that support environmental protection while delivering tangible benefits to local communities. Following the success of the Summit, Travel Green Thailand serves both as a consumer-facing resource and an industry-focused initiative, reinforcing Thailand’s commitment to using tourism as a positive force for long-term impact.

The platform underscores Thailand’s ongoing leadership in responsible tourism, with a focus on environmental stewardship, community empowerment, and destination resilience. The initiative aligns with Thailand’s national vision for Meaningful Travel, promoting experiences that foster deeper connections with the country’s people, heritage, and landscapes. Highlights include organic farm stays in Chiang Mai, mangrove restoration projects in Krabi, and other community-driven initiatives across the country.

Developed by the TAT Los Angeles Office, TravelGreenThailand.com features curated itineraries, certified sustainable accommodations, and practical tools for eco-conscious travel planning. Content ranges from ways to reduce single-use plastics to experiences that support local artisans and community enterprises—providing clear, actionable options for travellers who want to give back while they explore.

TAT plans to continue expanding the platform through partnerships with tourism stakeholders, introducing new sustainable experiences and community collaborations throughout Thailand.
